Healthy eating tips from my class!

I am teaching Food and Nutrition at the moment.
We are nearing the end of this unit.
I have tried, Lord! I have tried to instil some healthy eating tips to them.
We have looked at the calorie content in a Mc Donald's meal. We have added up how much of your daily calorie intake is in just one meal. We have googled McDonalds.
They have looked at labels, and additives and researched what effects these can have.
We have planned healthy meals and unhealthy meals and seen how much more you can eat if you eat healthily.
So what do they come back from break with?
You have guessed it.
Cakes, crisps, sweets and fizzy drinks.
I put my hands on my head in despair!
So today they came back early from lunch.
I was just about to eat mine. They asked if they could sit in and chat.
Yes, of course. They are generally good company.
As I took out my salad box all the dressing leaked onto the table and my notes.
Great.
They raised their eyes.
An interesting conversation ensued as to the contents of my salad and home made chicken burgers.
I made the observation that next to their 'crap' I was enjoying a lovely healthy lunch.
Raised eye brows again and unconvinced looks (This may have been due to the slight whiff of my egg mayo!)
As I was exalting the virtues of my lovely yogurt and the mixed fruit I was about to add, I opened the carton.
Whoosh
Yogurt sprayed all down my black top, black trousers, hair, and again the table and my now somewhat ragged notes.
The students looked at me, at the mess.
'You see Miss, a bag of crisps is so much simpler'! one commented.
They may have a point.......
