With any family, no matter what size there are points where you have to re assess where you are going, is everything working the way it should, could we do anything better, is someone being left out a bit.
We have reached one of those points.
Well we reached it quite a few months ago and are still trying to work out how to re organise now.
Since we had the twins, we can get them and Mair to bed okay, but we are finding it's Jono that the routine is not working for at all.
Before the twins were born we would put Mair to bed around 7-7.30 pm and then have time for Jono. We would play games, read and chat and he would go to bed around 8pm .
This is now the twins feeding and winging time.
We have tried just about everything.
It invariably means he 'drifts' around doing nothing in particular till we have finished with them, then we can play the games, reading etc but this is meaning he is going to bed at 9pm, or later and he cannot cope in the mornings, when he over sleeps and is very grumpy!
He is also, like any 10 year old would be, milking it to the max!
Meaning when we are finally free we realise he hasn't done his jobs, made his lunch or got any of his things sorted for the next day. Then we end up telling him off, not a good end to the day.
So the scenario goes on.
So again this week, we have a new master plan, new reward charts, new routines planned.
I have no quite exhausted all my ideas quite yet, but I will do soon.
I really hope this one works, for everyones sakes, but most of all for his.
Although I know absoulty nothing about Star Wars, I am in a long running battle with him and his Christmas Star Wars game we play! Mum has now won 22 times, and Jono 6! Ha! We play the game nightly, read up on the best ways to wipe each other out. I now know the difference between a Droid, Clone, Alien and Jedi! Impressed?
I love my times with him on his own.

I understand your dilemma, sigh! There's never a dull moment being a mum, there's always a new challenge.
