Baby shoe blues

The twins have their first shoes.
They have had them a couple of months now.
They are lovely and soft and leather and cost quite a bit of money!
They loose them the entire time.
Why?
Because some manufacturer in their ultimate wisdom deemed that in this day of advanced technology velcro was an infinitely better material to use to put shoes on than the good old fashioned buckle.
Maybe political correctness has won , once again. After all, heaven forbid my babies may hurt themselves on a buckle, and of course velcro encourages independence and means they can take their shoes on and off themselves.
Hmmm
In my babies case, off!
Then post them around the house.
I have lost count of the days we are late out trying to find the things!
I have nagged and nagged the older children to watch where they put the things, but to no avail. Caleb had one shoe all weekend!

I am nearly at the stage of going into the attic to find Luke and Bella's old shoes. 15 years ago, they had buckles.Are they less advanced? No. Did they suffer any dreadful accidents? No, well other than the ones they inflicted on one another.
Please Mr Clarks, if you ever find this article, bring back buckles and my sanity maybe restored!
